Why do you want a 19 flat screen TV?  Is it because your neighbor has a flat screen television and you want to “keep up with the Joneses”?  Is it because your friend has a tube TV and you want to show him that a flat screen TV is better?  Well, a flat screen TV definitely has it’s advantages.  Space is the major consideration.  A 19 flat screen TV will take up less space than it’s tube TV counterpart.  A flat screen TV also does not pick up as many glare images.  If you have a very bright room with alot of natural sunlight,  an LCD flat screen TV will probably be your better bet.  LCD flat screens are generally brighter than a plasma. So, if your watching a ball game in the afternoon, then an LCD flat screen TV would be a better choice.  Plasma flat screen televisions are known to have a wider viewing angle though.  So, if the seating in your room has people viewing the 19 flat screen TV from the side, then a plasma flat screen would be better.  Another item to consider is the forecasted use of the television.  LCD 19 flat screen televisions are the better choice for heavy use with video games or as a computer monitor.  There is no chance of a stationary image burn with an LCD.  Conversely, there is the possibility of burn-in from logos, etc. with plasma flat screen televisions.

A 19 flat screen TV is lighter and requires less space than a traditional television set.  The displays on a 19 flat screen TV are crisp and precise when compared to a tube television.  As mentioned above, an LCD 19 flat screen TV can also serve as a computer monitor. Most LCD televisions are best viewed from a limited sweet spot in front of the screen.  This matches well for an lcd 19 flat screen TV, since you will be sitting directly in front of the television.  Another advantage of a 19 inch is it’s size when placing it in a small room or a bathroom.  19 inches is more than adequate for closer viewing distances without feeling overwhelmed by the size of the screen.  You should also pay attention to the location of the inputs/outputs if you are using the 19 flat screen as a monitor or for gaming.  This can also come into consideration if you are mounting the 19 flat screen on the wall.  Side inputs/outputs on the flat screen TV can have quite an advantage.  Price is also a consideration.  You should fare much better purchasing a 19 flat screen TV as opposed to a 52 inch set.  Typically the larger the flat screen TV the higher the price.
